Evaluation Projects

The studies L&G conducts for its clients span evaluation, research design, program development, and other forms of systematic inquiry. In these studies, L&G’s trained evaluators integrate information from many sources to examine the operations and effects of programs in order to improve quality of services. Our team draws on their expertise in research and evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Since 2011, L&G has been providing evaluation services for after school and youth development programs across NYC working with both the NYC Department of Education (NYC DOE) and community-based organizations as clients. The most salient projects include the evaluation of 21^st Century Community Learning Centers (21^st CCLC) and the Extended School Day/School Violence Prevention (ESD/SVP) programs. We pride ourselves in being one of the biggest evaluator of 21^st CCLC grants working with over 150 schools across all five boroughs of NYC. To support these vital programs, L&G has created innovative and creative evaluation approaches that are customized to respond to the needs of the schools and communities served.

Recently, L&G conducted a formative evaluation that informed the development of a new professional development learning framework for the NYC Department of Education’s Office of Community Schools, Students in Temporary Housing (STH) team. Findings from this formative evaluation were used to create an onboarding handbook for new staff, arc of learning, and a professional development resource inventory database for new and existing staff.
